TSG22 Spooky Cracked Glass

OK 2nd time is the charm!!! I don't normally go out of my comfort zone and try many new techniques, even though my best pal Jodi is always trying to get me too, so attempting and completing this was a major for me.

The Spooky Cracked Glass technique is for this weeks There She Goes Challenge TSG22

I kept the layout fairly simple so as to not take away from the main piece. I also remembered to go with a spooky look!!

I stamped my "Happy Halloween" sentiment, which is by Inkadinkado, right onto the Creepy Crawly DP from Stamping Up. I ran out of the sugared coated brads so I made my own by taking plain black brads, dipping them in Stamping Up heat and stick powder, heating them with the embossing gun, then dipping them in Stamping Up Dazzling Diamonds and re-heating with embossing gun. I love them!

Ok now the cracked glass. First I stamped my Jack-o-lantern onto a Label 9 Nesstie (Jodi gave me a handful of samples- your a doll BFF!) Then I stamped my the eniter thing with my Versa Mark Pad and clear embossed it. I repeated this step 4 more times totally 5 layers of clear embossing! Then I put it in the freezer for about 15 minutes took it out and cracked. I actually had to keep putting back in the freezer to get cracks, I think the warmth of my hands was heating it up. After I reached cracked capacity I sponged some Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip and then wiped with a paper towel. I am so happy with how it came out and I had a blast with this technique, it is really so simple but the possibilities are endless!!

Stamps: Carved and Candlelit by Stamping Up and Happy Halloween by Inkadinkado

Paper: Basic Black, Sahara Sand, Creepy Crawly DP & Candy Corn DP by Pravo Craft

TESC81 Happy Autumn

Phew, what a long and tiring Tuesday! Ok so I made this card last night, it was suppose to be my hand at the Cracked Glass challenge for There She Goes. It was my first try and it didn't come out the right way, plus after the fact I realized that the 2nd part of the challenge was to make a spooky card....clearly this is NOT spooky.

Since I had also combined it with an old Taylored Expression sketch challenge I decided to push through and finish it I wasn't going to post it but I suppose no card should ever go to waste!

MY colors are Purely Pomegranate, Chocolate Chip and More Mustard by Stamping Up and White by Paper Trey, I used the Rock N Roll technique for the leaves. I embossed the More Mustard layer with my Swirls CB folder and Nesstied my sentiment!

BTW I have attempted the Cracked Glass again and this time I think it's working better so I'll upload that one later!!

MTSC37 Girls Just Wanna Have Funds

Happy Monday!!! Ok this is going to be a quick one as the football game is on-LOL!!! This is an old Mercy sketch, and my first try at one. I totally loved it and was waiting for the right inspiration to hit.....well last night it did!!!

I used the Tote-ally Fantastic set from My Favorite Things. I find it to be so versatilel!

I've been having a purple fascination lately and I thought that for fall how cute would the purse's be in this deep color. I had an even brighter idea after I finished the card and added Glossy Accents and made them faux Paten Leather. BTW I 'm totally obsessed with the Glossy Accents, I think it is just so much fun!

There is a sheer purple ribbon behind each circle. I tried to find a spot for more but I didn't want it to be to over the top. I just love this sentiment, I think it is so true!

Stamps: Tote-ally Fantastic

Paper: Crusched Curry, Pale Plum and Perfect Plum all by Stamping Up and White by PaperTrey

Accessories: Black Brads, Glossy Accents, Swiss Dots CB Embossing Folder, Purple Sheer Ribbon and Circle Nessties

There She Goes Release Party

Saturday night I attended my first There She Goes Release Chat Party and I must say what a HOOT it was. Those ladies are too funny and the new releases,
SPOOKTACULAR SILHOUETTES, HOME SWEET HOME, HSH HALLOWEEN ADDITIONS are awesome! I was lucky enough to win the entire release, which 2 days later I still can NOT believe. Congratulations to the other lucky winners, hope you have as much fun with the sets as I am hoping to have. I am so looking forward to playing with all these new goodies. Thanks again to Jessica for great stamps and to all the Trendsetters for great inspiration!!

SC247 Halloween Matey

Ok so I think with the cooler weather and starting the day at a Fall Fair in the morning, I am officially in a Fall State of Mind!

I kept trying to come up with a clever way of using this Pirate, which is from the Matey set by The Greeting Farm, since he arrived......then I had the idea of using him on a Halloween card and in costume! I think he is too cute and I can totally picture opening my door on Halloween night and seeing a cutie like him there.

I colored him with Copics and Shin Han Markers ( I just LOVE them both). I still have so much Stamping Up Halloween DP so I decided to us two differnt designs from Creepy Crawly- it's hard to see them since these images tend to be on the larger side and sometimes take up alot of the card base. ON his skull belt I used tiny bit of Glossy Accents for shine. The skull ribbon I stumbled upon one day at AC Moore in the Dollar Rack and the Circles are layered Nessties!

SC247 Thanks!

Happy Friday everyone!!!! OK so 2 days later and I finally finished "touching up" my coloring on this card. The bench really gave me a problem, still not crazy about it but I do love this image.

This was Wednesday sketch challenge and the color combo of Bravo Burgandy and Kraft from Stampin Up just poped in my head late yesterday afternoon and I just fel that it was the earthy look I wanted with this image. The stamp set is the delightful Side By Side from There She Goes. I embossed the long panel with my CB Distressed folder and because the image panel was larger than the sketch dimension I left the middle layer plain and just added some dots with my Burgandy Copic and sponged the edges around the image.
The entire image was colored in Copics and Shin Han Markers....I just got 5 new colors in the Shin Hans and I'm having a blast with them!! Also, hard to see, but for the bucket I used a touch of Glossy Effects so that it look liked water in the bucket.

I must just share a quick story about this card as it made me and Jodi laugh very hard this morning. I always show my husband my final products and he alsways enjoys them but he has one issue.....at times he does not get the connection between the sentiment and the image. So when I showed him this this morning he said " Its very nice but Babe I just don't get it, are you sending this to someone to thank them for churning butter?" hahaha I though that was so funny!! Hope you get a laugh from it too and have a great night!!

Stamps: Side by Side by There She Goes, Circular Says by Verve
Paper: Bravo Burgandy and Kraft by Stampin Up, WHite by PaperTrey
Accessories: Silver Brads, Copics, Shin Han Markers, Kraft Taffetta Ribbon, Dimensionals and Distressed CB Embossing Folder

SC246 A Cup Of Life

WOW can not believe it has been so long since I made a card and posted one, my mojo just wasn't in it the last week. I actually walked away from a card cause I just could NOT get it to work. So while watching the football games I decided to start from scratch.

I just LOVE this Verve set, A Cup of Life, I think it is just so darling!! My family are big tea drinkers so this set has a real homey feel for me. I used it for last Wednesday's Sketch Challenge along with a fall inspired color combo. I stamped the images with the Momento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics. It might be ahrd to see from the photo but I lined the tea cup with some stickels and then also made little drops, again with the stickels, as if the pot was puring into the cup.

Reach for the Stars!

Ok so I'm half way through my week off...NOT fun BUT I'm also half way through the challenges for Taylored Expression's Birthday Bass...LOTS of fun!!! This is my card for challenge #8, Jodis color combo which was Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry TEBBJC. I also used Challenge #10 which was Karen G.'s sketch TEBBKG. Both challenges were so much fun!
I colored this adrobale giraffe with copics and cut it out with my circle Nessties. I decided to use all three colors on the ribbon just to spice it up and I added the jewels at the last minute just to fill up some of the space.

Paper: Melon Mambo, White by PaperTrey, Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay
Accessories: Nesstabilities, Ribbon, Jewels, Copics and Dimensionals

Halloween Challenge

OK so here is my very first Halloween card of the season and it incorporates 3 challenges from the Taylored Expression Birthday Bash! Specifically it is challenge #5 which was Denise's Inspiration TEBBDM. What I gave me the most inspiration in the photo were the polka dots and the pumpkins.
It is challenge #6 which was Laura's sketch TEBBLF, which was a tough one for me (those center panels kept thowing me off) but it really made me think out of my comfort zone and I had a lot of fun with it.
Finally it is also challenge #7 which was Dawn's technique of Paper Tole TEBBDE. I had never heard of this technique before, I have seen it done on other cards but never tried myself. I stamped the pumpkins 3 times and cut two out, one with a stem and one without and poped both layers up on dimensionals on each other. Very cool technique Dawn!
Paper: Pale Plum, Basic Black, Kiwi Kiss, White by PaperTrey, Halloween Dots by K & Co.
Stamps: Dotted Autumn and Tag Time
Accessories: WHite Gelp Pen, Copic, Balck Ribbon, Distressed CB Folder and Dimensionals

Side By Side

Wow it's Tuesday night already, boy time is just flying!! I spent the better half of this afternoon in my stamp area and it felt so nice...although now it's a mess again!

This card was made with two stamps from the set that I won on the There She Goes Blog Hop! I had a blast using them!

This card also incorporates the 4th challenge for the Taylored Expression Birthday Bash which was Charmaine's color combo TEBBCI. I don't have Prism color cardstock so I did "like" colors- Soft Sky, Barely Banana and Certainly Celery. I poped the scalloped image layer up on dimensionals and stamped the sentiment right on the CB layer. My image was colored with Copics

Stamps: Side By Sidy by There She Goes
Paper: Soft Sky, Chocolate CHip, Very Vanilla and Barely Banana
Accessories: Certainly Celery Ribbon, Birda and Flowers CB Folder, Scallop Edge Punch, Oval Scallop Punches, Copics and Jewels

Yummy...Happy Birthday!!

Ok so I am so EXCITED for the 13 challenges celebrating Taylored Expressions 1st Birthday,
I have all week off from work and I intend to get to them all.

Also, I finally broke down last week and ordered Nesstabilities and boy did they come in the nick of time- Friday afternoon!! Naturally I was so HAPPY to use them, it has been a long time comming.

This is my card for the challenges #1-3.

I used TEBBTV- Taylor's Inspiration, TEBBKM- Karen's Sketch and TEBBDB- Donna's Paper Piecing.

I created my own DP by stamping cherries for this stamp set in the background and then added just a drop of stickels on the cherries for texture. I paperpieced the cupcake wrapper and colored the frosting with Shin Han Markers.

Stamps: Clear Cupcake Set
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery & White by Papertrey

SC244 My Cup of Tea

This is my card for todays Sketch Challenge. The DP is all Cosmo Cricket and the Stamp set is A Cup of Life from Verve.
I was so tired tonight that I was going to wait till tomorrow to do this but then as I passed my stamp desk on the way to the laundry room to switch yet another load of clothes...and of course it pulled me in and I just had to play! I actually put this together fairly quickly but now I'm off to sleep! Good night!

Matey....

Hi everyone!! So I got these stamps about a week ago and I have been dying to ink them up,I just adore these stamps by The Greeting Farm, I think they are so cute and so much fun to color! This set actually includes this girl Pirate and then a boy Pirate as well.
This was an old Mojo Monday sketch, week 71 from January 26th. The only change I made to the layout was that I didn't make a square card which was the original sketch.
I embossed the skull & bones and colored the little Matey with Copics & Shin Han markers. After I finished I felt that I probably should have cut the image a little closer so you could see more of the delightful Cosmo Cricket DP-thanks again Jodes! I just thought that these colors went so well with the image. My husband helped me choose the sentiment- the set comes with three but I wasn't sure which one to use so thanks honey!!
